The Creole Gospel Fest 2009 reached an unexpected level despite the torrential rain that kept thousands of people home. According to Evangelist Robby Germain, the main organizer and president of H.O.P.E. Ministry who put together that annual event, "I wanted the artists and bands to give the best of themselves and lift the name of Jesus instead of themselves. They did so and, as a result, more than five people gave their life to Jesus or renew their allegiance to Him. What a night!" That night, five personalities were granted the H.O.P.E. Ministry/Clubdesfans.com Recognition Award for outstanding work in the Christian community in NY. The recipients were Claude Aurelien and Joe Michel (artists), Br and Sr Manno (Radio Lumiere Int 88.1 fm) and Dr Damis Pierre (Open Eye Church). Hundreds of people braved the rainfall and got together at the Cortelyou Church of God for that 2nd edition of the Creole Gospel Fest during which God was honored, worshipped and praised at a very high level. "It was nothing like the regular Christian event I usually attend. It was very spiritual and uplifting...I am glad I was there" declared Mary F...

*** EVANGEL WON SOULS WHILE MINISTERING AT THE CREOLE GOSPEL FEST...
Evangel reached a much higher spiritual level while ministering at the Creole Gospel Fest. Evangel was among the top ten artists and groups scheduled to perform at the festival. "Evangel and D.O.C. were at the top of my priorities. D.O.C. disappointed me and Evangel won the heart of the several hundreds people who attended the event including myself", admitted Evangelist Robby. After a sleepless night, Evangel arrived in the first flight of JetBlue on Saturday morning. After being picked up at JFK and dropped at their hotel in Newark, the band rested for about two hours only and were ready to deliver at the festival. After being trapped in the Holland tunnel and Flatbush Ave traffics, they finally reached the Cortelyou Church of God around 9h pm. Around 11h pm, Evangel got on stage wearing doctors outfits. Dominique and Claire surprised everybody with their ease and their unique way to get the crowd going...At the end, maestro Ricardo started to speak softly about Jesus while Rick was magnificent at the keyboard and the rest of the band was simply outstanding. Then, Evangelist Robby joined Evangel on stage and literally made an altar call. About five people came up to the front; one said yes to the Lord for the first time and the others resumed their relationship with Jesus. Bravo Evangel. Keep up with the good work and may God bless your ministry because you generated a party in Heaven with those souls...

*** THE SECOND EDITION OF THE CREOLE GOSPEL FEST WAS A SUCCESS DESPITE A BOYCOTT LED BY LEVANJIL TV AND OTHER ARTISTS NOT INVITED AT THE EVENT.
There is a big difference between doing something to please God and doing something to get money out of it. Once again, the primary goals of the Creole Gospel Fest are already preset: Honor, worship and praise God. Everything else come after. Now, the question to be asked is the following: How can someone or some entities think they can boycott an event during which the name of Jesus will be uplifted? The problem started with Marc from Omega who called Clubdesfans.com to tell them how come they were on the flyer (which was not true)and they didn't know about it. We simply answered them that they were on the EXPECTED line up seven (7) months ago but we have too many full bands at the actual line up. Then Toto Necessite rep in NY asked for $2,000 for a "performance" that would last less than one hour...(No Comment) Levanjil TV, a website based in Philadelphia, launched a campaign against us and even called the members of Evangel to tell them that the event was not promoted and talked about a possible cancellation of the festival. Artists such as Brother Kenson, Reginald Charlemagne, also from Phillie didn't show up...Coincidence..? Who knows? Despite the fact that the devil used those tactics of intimidation and people who claim to know God, the second edition of the Creole Gospel Fest was a HUGE success. The next Creole Gospel Fest is scheduled for next year on June 19, 2010 with Evangel, Apocalypse 2000, United Voice of Connecticut, Revelation of Haiti, Fritz Saget, Ti Claude, and many more in the expecting line up...

*** FLORIDA PASSES ON THE CHRISTIAN PLATE...
Early this month, the state of Florida proposed a bill that would allow a license plate on which one may choose a background picture of Jesus on the cross with a crown of thorns or a stained glass window and a cross and the words “I Believe.”
     It was proposed as an ‘option’ for Florida drivers, however no other religious iconography was going to be made available. The bill came under heavy criticism from the Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the American Civil Liberties Union, died in the Friday legislative session. More than 100 specialized plates are available to Florida drivers, the proceeds of which go to support various causes and groups. “License plates are not a license for the government to prefer one religion over others,” Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of the Washington-based American United, told USA Today. “I’m glad the legislature in Florida seems to have finally realized that.”
